The eighth Diesel Emissions Conference Europe incorporating the AdBlue® Forum takes place in Düsseldorf between 30th May and 1st June 2012. With Euro VI legislation looming for heavy duty vehicles in January 2013, the main issues on the agenda for on-road will be the technical challenges for meeting these requirements; the results of Euro VI testing and possible amendments to legislation; new and innovative emissions reduction technology; alternative fuels, lubricants and engine technology; addressing the challenge of particulate number counting and solutions for CO2 and NO2 reduction.

AdBlue / DEF - Fact and Fiction
The latest European emissions legislation has meant that of the 440,000 commercial vehicles on the Britain’s roads, about 180,000 are now equipped with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and use AdBlue® diesel emission fluid - or DEF as it is known in North America. Thanks to the changes in legislation there has been a dramatic reduction in noxious nitrogen oxides and particulate matter in recent years.

The unit had to be robust and very low maintenance and the liquid had to be passed though a filter before use.
