Gentech designs tilt switch for backhoes

JCB, one of the world’s top three manufacturers of construction equipment, needed to accurately position the loading arm of the Backhoe loader, to allow the safe detachment of the attachment or bucket. The switch needed to be robust enough to withstand heavy usage, vibration and shock that the backhoe is subjected to in its daily routine.

Gentech designs complex header assembly for truck applications

A major North American truck OEM required new fluid sensors and a metal assembly for their newly government mandated diesel exhaust fluid tanks. The metal assembly required stainless steel tubing to provide hot engine coolant to flow through the tank in below freezing conditions, along with sensors for temperature and fluid level sensing. The ability to accurately measure fluid levels was critical in providing information to on-board computers, as low condition slows down and eventually shuts off truck operation.

Grass cutter gets detected

Starting grass cutting tractors with the cutter positioned down can cause damage to the engine and the ground – alowing start up only when the blade is up is prevents damage. The client wanted a reliable sensor to replace the contact switch type he had been using. Contamination and vibration caused poor reliability. A high concentration of metal in the detection area made standard non-contact sensors difficult to source.

Gentech Sensors verify minimum oil level for safe engine start-up

The client , a construction and agricultural equipment manufacturer, wished to remove the risk of diesel engines being started with low oil levels. Typically the task of checking levels is carried out manually and is often neglected or forgotten. Ensuring minimum oil levels are safe prevents costly equipment failure and downtime. A sensor, positioned in a confined space in the engine, was required to interface with the engine management system to prevent start up when unsafe.

Gentech Custom Solution keeps super car cool

One of the world’s oldest super car marques required a sensor for its engine coolant expansion tank. Coolant level is critical in high performance engines where overheating, through low coolant levels, can cause very costly damage. The sensor system was required to alert the driver when levels were low and in addition it was required to be aesthetically and mechanically in line with the rest of the vehicles high levels of automotive engineering.
